Vermilion, "Andaman Redwood"

Grown only in the Andaman Islands. The dark red color in the image is not exaggerated. This sample was freshly milled, oiled, and then scanned. With age, this very fine timber will darken to an attractive reddish-brown. Padauk is hard, durable, and takes a very high polish. Available in timber and veneer, priced in the moderately high range.
