Moradillo, Santos Rosewood Mostly grown in Bolivia and Brazil. Typically fine textured, hard, and heavy, with small pores barely visible and chocolate brown to purple to black coloring. Grain pattern and texture exhibit large variations. Some samples appear similar to mahogany but with higher contrast and 'inverted' streaks. Generally available, as timber and veneer, at an average to moderately-high cost. |
