The Any time a project such as this enters our shop, the first order of business is to determine the most effective way to preserve the historical value of the piece. Honest conservation work, both mechanical and visual, are much more labor intensive than simply replacing parts and stripping down an old finish. Inch by inch, a decision must be taken as how to best restore the particular item in question. The subjective nature of this process limits the available options and directs the procedure. This short slide show is meant to convey a small sense of this scrutiny, and the attentiveness practiced in our shop. |
